JOSE R. BEJEL, ESQ.

Jose Ruben Bejel, who began his career in the legal profession in 1992, has been licensed to practice law in the State of Florida since 2001. A native Floridian and fluent in Spanish, Bejel specializes in personal injury, family, probate and estates, contract and criminal law.

Bejel graduated from Florida International University with a B.A. degree in criminal justice and minor concentration in political science. While attending FIU, he interned with the Dade County State Attorney’s Office and the Dade County Public Defender’s office, working directly with state attorneys and public defenders. In those roles, he saw firsthand the impact a lawyer can have in the courtroom and the community.

Bejel earned his law degree at Nova Southeastern University. While there, he participated in several activities geared toward a career as a trial lawyer in private practice, and he also served as a Guardian ad Litem in Broward County.

Once admitted to the Florida Bar, he joined a small-sized Coral Gables law firm as an associate, concentrating on preparing civil cases for trial. He later moved to a larger sized firm in Hialeah, focusing in insurance litigation and conducting numerous personal injury and PIP trials. Later in 2004, he joined Sutton & Montoto, now known as the Sutton Law Group where he handled various types of civil litigation matters.

A member of the Florida Bar, Bejel is admitted to practice in the State Courts of Florida and is also a member of the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Florida. Bejel is eligible for Family Court Certified Mediator.
